Time Line Therapy is an NLP technique created by Dr Tad James introduced in 1988 in the book “Time Line Therapy and the Basis of Personality”. The traditional use of Time Line Therapy is to release your body from negative emotions by finding the root cause of the event and learning eventss in the past.

Time Line TherapyTM is a process that assists us:
- To let go of Negative Emotions from the past
- To let go of Limiting Decisions from the past
- Create our future the way we want it.
These are the three major techniques that comprise Time Line Therapy™—they are easy to do and make a significant change in a person's life.
Our Time Line shows us how we store and represent time through our past, present and future memories. We all store and represent events on our time line and access them in many different ways. The unconscious mind will store the memories from the past allowing you to access repressed intact emotions until they can be resolved. Throughout life we will store our negative emotions and carry them around as baggage, this can lead to many problems such as Anger which leads to violence. Stress, leading to depression and it is also been proved that negative emotions can also lead to health problems. Time Line Therapy helps release your body from the five major negative emotions so that you can learn from them and move on in the future. Releasing you body from these emotions:
- Anger
- Sadness
- Fear
- Hurt
- Guilt
Can help with many areas of life such as depression as this will generally be a build up of sadness and hurt. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder can also be helped as this is triggered by a number of intense traumatic events such as personal assault, natural disasters, accidents and military combat. So you may ask yourself if there are any other uses for it and there are many, if you are have just lost your job and you are finding it can be hard to deal with the stress, it can help provide clarity and get you back on your feet. It is also helpful from people wanting to lose weight and with people with anorexia as much of these causes can be triggered emotionally with pressure from the media and other significant emotional events in the past.
